Your electricity usage may go up if electricity is used for air conditioning and hot water during summer or winter when there is a considerable difference between outdoor and indoor temperatures. This is because your equipment consumes more electricity even if you maintain a certain temperature indoors.
Your electricity charge is calculated based on the meter read value provided by the General Electricity Transmission and Distribution Utility. No matter which electricity retailer you choose, your electricity usage will be measured in the same way as any other retailer. All electric meters conform to the standards of the Measurement Act and are replaced before the expiration date, which means the measured values are highly reliable. If you think your electricity usage went up, we recommend that you compare your usage to the same month last year or check the following month's usage. If you wish to have your electrical equipment inspected, please contact your local electrical contractor (at your own expense).
